- Forced Rent Reduction = Communism
Welcome to Kingston, New York. I know I’m a couple of weeks late to this story here, but I just came across it and I nearly shat my pants. It all started with rent control (link here). Now it’s devolved into a 15% RENT REDUCTION for tenants. Oh, and lucky for the landlords, this was a compromise, down from a 30% reduction! Thankfully it’s all in limbo at the moment as a judge temporarily blocked the reduction — and could nix rent stabilization in the upstate city altogether (link here).
Scary, scary stuff.
